Missions:

January 28, 2009

God is so gracious to open eyes to His marvelous light as expressed by Jesus to the Apostle Paul in Acts 26: "I am sending you to open their eyes so that they turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a share among those who are sanctified by faith in me."

In 20 centuries the blinding tactics of Satan have not assuaged. Please read the following from Terese Magsalin in the Philippines as she coordinates a "Revealing His Glory" training in Cebu in February in the central Visayas region.

Please pray for Cebu --- that our Lord will tear down the heavy stronghold of idolatry among the locals there.  This week Cebu is actually having a grand local feast called "sinulog" which is a parade and celebration for Saint Nino (little Jesus icons) images.  Sister Penny (Arriola) said that the missions movement there is slow and she's kinda getting frustrated at times.  She said that strongholds of the enemy might be at work.  I do agree that territorial spirits may be behind that thing.  That's why it is exciting that we will have RHG there with you coming over on the week of Feb. 15.  As we pray and seek God's grace and as His message is sown via the "Revealing His Glory" seminar and training we do hope that God will change the spiritual climate of the place!  God is greater than any spirits and we need to reclaim the place, Cebu for GOD!  This early on we should ask for intercessors to pray for GOD to tear down the works of the enemy and make Cebu a fertile soil for God's glory to be shown and displayed!

Cebu is but one city to pray for on this trip. Here is a weekly itinerary:

- For the first week of February, you may add Bandung, Indonesia and the training and consultation to be held that week.

- For the second week of February, please pray for Dhaka, Bangladesh and the teaching and training to be conducted there.

- From February 14 till the 27th, two cities (at least) will host trainings in the Philippines: Cebu and another yet to be determined.

- The remaining two weeks of the trip till the 11th of March take me to Taiwan for more trainings and consultations.

- Returning to the US does not take me home as a church in the city of West Oneonta, NY will host a missions seminar on March 15.

Ike Rhyu, our South American director, is conducting several trainings. Please pray for 2 scheduled trainings in Mexico and another in Panama.

Andy Barnard, our African director, requests prayer as he investigates possible teaching and training events in Kenya, Uganda, and South Africa over the next few months.

Your prayers and support are essential, and we on the international team are most thankful.
