The Rogers E-Dock

Dear Friends & Family,

Furlough has flown by (pun intended) and I am headed back to Uganda today.  Unfortunately, things went a bit crazy with flight connections, so I’m staying in Detroit for the night and will continue the journey tomorrow.  I’m sure God has His reasons!  Amy and the kids are spending a bit more time with family in Ohio while I return to work.  Amy will return on August 10th with her mom and a friend who will be doing a missions internship.  While I will miss Amy and the kids I am looking forward to getting back to flying.  Please continue to pray for Amy as she continues to fight an infection that the doctors seem to be having trouble figuring out what it is.  Amy & I were able to spend a vacation with Amy’s family in Gatlinburg TN this past week which was a real blessing.

Once I return to Uganda, I’ll start paperwork to renew my Ugandan license.  It will probably take a couple weeks for this paperwork to be completed.  Then I’ll be busy with Base Checks and Route Checks.  This is standard training that we take 2-3 times a year to make sure that we are at the top of our game.  Finally, I’ll start regular flying!  I’m looking forward to getting back into flying and maintenance.  MAF in Uganda has been expanding significantly, so I will be quite busy when I return.

Thank you to each of you who have donated towards a vehicle for us in Uganda.  I’ll be starting the search for a good used vehicle when I return.  Please pray that God would direct us to a reliable vehicle that will serve us for many years to come with few problems.  After the history of our last two cars we are a bit anxious about the next one.

As we return to Uganda, we have a new computer and new communication capabilities.  We are on Skype now so if you have Skype you can call us for free!!  We are under Dave and Amy Rogers with a username of dave.amy.rogers.  We are also on Facebook with pictures of the family, so please feel free to look us up.  You can find us on Facebook under the name of Dave Rogers.  Please bear with us if African internet does not work “as advertised!”  Thank you again for your faithful support and prayers.  Blessings!

For His Glory,

Dave & Amy Rogers
