Greetings from snowy
Sanders, AZ!!! Last week we
received about eight inches
of snow total, nothing to
brag about compared to some
but beautiful and schedule
changing none the less. : )
I have had some requests to
see my horses so Friday
morning I saw a really cute
picture and ended up taking
quite a few then put many of
them on
Facebook. I don’t
spend much time at all there
but am getting better at
putting pictures on at
least!!! You will not find
pictures of the people I
work with on there unless I
have explicit permission
from them.
“Alv”
has had a friend staying
with her whose mother kicked
her out of the home because
the mother’s boyfriend
didn’t like her.
Tosh
is her nickname.
Tosh’s
siblings and mother are
living in the boyfriend’s
mother’s home,
who
is practicing witchcraft.
There is much demonic
activity, much anger and a
great deal of brokenness.
They are traditional in
beliefs yet at times attend
church, except for the
boyfriend’s mother. “Alv”
and her mom had tried to
share the gospel with
Tosh
attempting to help her see
Christianity and traditional
beliefs are not the same and
one needs to choose Jesus.
Tosh
really didn’t want to hear
that!!!
Shortly after
Tosh
arrived in Sanders I had the
opportunity to meet her. In
our brief time together I
heard why she was here and
had the opportunity to share
scant facts about my life
being rejected my mother. I
told her that I would like
to talk with her more but
didn’t get that opportunity
for two weeks. During
that
two weeks
Tosh
showed signs of needing help
and finally said she would
like counseling. Saturday
Jan. 23rd we did
get together for almost two
hours. Through listening,
sharing some of my story and
talking about her pain our
need of salvation was woven
in. She said she felt
better but needed to think
about what had been shared.
Yesterday “Alv”
and
Tosh were here most
of the day.
Tosh
and I talked again for two
rather intense hours during
which I did a lot of S.O.S.
praying!!!! “Lord, I know
her greatest need is You but
how will we ever get
there?” God is great and
wonderful in His ways!!! We
did get there and she was
confused about what was the
truth, but she had
experienced that God did
care for her. I asked her
to tell the Lord she was
confused and wanted to know
the truth. While I prayed
she began to cry as she felt
the Lord touching her heart
but she was afraid to let
Him into her life. So back
to prayer we went. After
praying for her I waited for
a while then just had to ask
how she was!!
J She had
received Jesus and felt
happy and peaceful!!!!
J I will
confess to being a little
unsure at times so I asked
her to share with “Alv”
what she had done and as I
listened it was beautiful to
hear what she told “Alv.”
“Alv”
was in tears and so was
Tosh,
happy ones!!!!
Tosh
is trying to go to Job Corps
schooling in Albuquerque,
NM. I strongly encouraged
her to be in God’s Word
daily and to go to church.
I have some contacts in
Albuquerque I’ll try to get
her in touch with once she
actually gets settled
there. She needed a Bible
so I gave her one and had
her write some verses down
for memorization.
It is very exciting and
humbling to have a small
part in seeing a person
receive Christ!! There was
absolutely no way I could
have cleared up her
confusion and remove her
fear, but the Lord sure
could!!!!!! Nothing short
of awesome!! Now she needs
prayer for growing in the
Lord!!! Thank you for your
prayers and financial
support to make it possible
for me to be here!!!
